Veganism – The Celebrity Lifestyle Choice

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you’ll have been hearing more and more about the benefits of the vegan lifestyle. Many people around the world have adopted the vegan diet including many famous faces both here in Australia and around the world. Most choose to go vegan to show their opposition to how farm animals are treated, and the effects mass farming is having on our planet. Below are some A-list evangelists of the vegan lifestyle:

Liam Hemsworth & Miley Cyrus
Our own home-grown Aussie Liam Hemsworth is one half of an extremely famous vegan couple along with his wife Miley Cyrus. The Hollywood A-Listers have been meat-free since 2014 and rave about how great the diet makes them feel mentally and physically.

Venus Williams
While many people wonder about how sustainable a plant-based diet is for professional athletes due to the levels of protein required for muscle repair, it hasn’t stopped one of the greatest female sports stars on the planet, tennis legend Venus Williams. She originally started on the vegan path after being diagnosed with autoimmune disease ‘Sjogrens syndrome’ and said that veganism ‘changed everything’ for her from a health standpoint.

Ariana Grande
Pop superstar Ariana Grande jumped on the vegan train 5 years ago, due to her massive love for all animals and her strong opposition to the way they are farmed for food. She is a strong advocate for the benefits of the vegan diet and is outspoken when it comes to educating her young fanbase about it.

Woody Harrelson
While massive awareness has been raised for the vegan diet in the past few years, some celebrities have been living free of meat and animal products for much longer. One example is actor Woody Harrelson, who has practiced veganism for over 30 years! He also doesn’t eat flour or sugar.

Mike Tyson
One extremely famous vegan is a little unexpected; former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. Tyson went vegan way back in 2010 for health reasons and has never looked back since.

Ellie Goulding
UK Singer Ellie Goulding has lived the vegetarian life for years now and has recently transitioned to full vegan. Her decision, like many others, was a result of educating herself on how animals were farmed for meat.

Daniel Johns
Completing our list of famous vegans is another home-grown animal rights activist, former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns. He first revealed he was vegan 20 years ago, way back in 1998.
